Harry Kane will have just a year left on his contract in the summer and Manchester United are widely reported to be interested in him.

In the midst of all the chaos at Tottenham recently, Harry Kane continues to excel, stand out and lead from the front when the easy choice is to down tools and look forward to the summer.

Against Manchester United, Kane did not score- but he was easily the best player on the field again, he set up Son Heung-min twice before the South Korean took the invitation on the third attempt for the equaliser on the night.

The impressive thing about the 29-year-old striker is that he never really moans, he gets on with the work even when the critical issue of his future is consistently brought up.

On Thursday night, the away fans consistently sang “O Harry Kane, we’ll see you in June.” but the consummate professional was only fixed on dragging his side back into the game. Kane played a role in the first goal and set up the second, earning Spurs the point and lifting moods that had been dampened by results.

Two season’s ago, Kane tried to leave without success, but this summer is another interesting scenario, the English striker will be 30 this year and it will be interesting to see what he decides to do, especially with just a year left on his contract.

Tottenham’s battling performance to come back from two goals down has seen them jump to fifth in the Premier League table, securing Champions League football will be crucial for everyone, and helping Spurs stay in Europe could change the discussion around the club.

Tottenham are without a manager, having sacked Antonio Conte and only recently replaced Cristian Stellini with Ryan Mason.

The issue of Kane’s future will continue to dominate the headlines, but it will be influenced by who the next Spurs boss will be, if they will play in Europe, and if Manchester United really want to go all out for him.
