Early Chelsea team news as exciting Cole Palmer decision is made in predicted XI vs Manchester City

Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia are nearing a return but this game comes too soon for them.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to go with the same team that beat Tottenham on Monday night as they look to take all three points against Manchester City.

Nkunku remains out, along with Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka.

Armando Broja is back in full training but will likely start as a substitute. Mykhailo Mudryk returned last time out but was only fit enough for the bench.

There is a big attraction on Cole Palmer who has moved from Manchester City and has wasted little time adapting to life in west London.

He's scored six goals in 41 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions, including goals in this season's Community Shield and European Super Cup and will start to try and help his new team beat the club he came through the ranks.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted he was reminded of Argentine World Cup winner Angel Di Maria when he saw him play.

He told reporters when asked the question of playing style: "'Juan Mata? No, he is more Di Maria! You know, the body and the way he moves."
