Why Dele Alli was at the Tottenham Stadium to see his former team beat Brighton 2-1 in the Premier League

Dele Alli scored 51 goals in 181 appearances for Tottenham before moving to Everton in 2022.

Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was spotted in one of the boxes as Spurs came from behind to beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 in the Premier League. The Everton midfielder spent seven years in north London before moving to Merseyside in 2022.

For the first two years of his time at Spurs, he was named in the PFA Team of the Year. But his Spurs career went off the boil during the 2020/21 season, and after failing to secure a regular first-team berth with new Spurs manager Antonio Conte he was sold to Everton in January 2022.

But that has not stopped him from coming up to watch them play whenever the time is favourable. LondonWorld sources say the midfielder who is still in touch with some of the players at the club was a guest of Son Heung-min

This was a good time to visit though as Spurs rallied from a goal down to beat Brighton with the winner scored by the electric Brenna Johnson with the last kick of the game.

Spurs show grit and determination

Tottenham conceded late against Everton to draw 2-2 last week but here, they showed incredible determination to score late and secure the win. The mark of every good team is their ability to be able to grind results and here they did just that.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou would also be delighted with his squad after captain Son, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr all contributed to today's win after returning from international duty. Sarr scored the equaliser, Son set up Brennan Johnson's winner and Bissouma won the ball which led to the turnover and eventual winner.

The Lilywhites return to fourth on the league table and Aston Villa who don't play until Sunday drop to fifth.
