'Deeply disappointed' - Copenhagen boss rips into team after Tottenham thrashing
Copenhagen boss Jacob Neestrup was not happy after his side were thrashed by Tottenham in the Champions League.
Copenhagen manager Jacob Neestrup has ripped into his team after seeing them lose 4-0 to Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The Danish side fell way short, and even when given the chance to get back into the game with Brennan Johnson’s red card at 2-0, they went on to not only fail to score, but to concede two more goals.

It has been a tough start to the season for Copenhagen, who are down in fourth in their domestic league, and they have picked up just one point from their first four Champions League games.
The Danish side have been hammered by injuries early in the season, but head coach Neestrup was not in the mood for excuses after seeing his side get comprehensively beaten by Tottenham.
Neestrup lamented his side’s inability to even put on a ‘decent’ performance in North London. He said: “We were far too open, and even though we faced a good team, we didn't play up to what we needed.
"It was one of the focal points that should have been right throughout. But it wasn't and we lost 4-0. We could have lost by more, and of course I am deeply disappointed with that. At half time we talked about the fact that there were opportunities, but we made it difficult for ourselves when we fell behind three or four minutes into the second half.
"We also made it difficult for ourselves when we got a golden opportunity with their red card. We conceded shortly after that on another conversion over 70-80 metres. The match was over by that point and I think it was hard for us to get over that, also partially because of the situation we are in, because of course we had hoped for more. But we just have to admit that a Champions League match at Tottenham, we are not at the level right now where we can match them.
"Therefore we still have to perform better than what we did today, and that is what we have to go home and look at. We have to look forward to the match that awaits us on Sunday, which is of course incredibly important in relation giving us a good starting point in the Superliga until after the next international break.
"The 3,000 travelling F.C. Copenhageners had hoped for a lot more, and so did we, so I am of course disappointed that we cannot at least give them a decent performance."
Frank advice
Asked about Copenhagen’s performance, Tottenham boss Frank said: “Of course, it doesn't always look super good if you lose 4-0. But as a coach I also know that it's never as good or as bad as you think it is, no matter what game you're in. I don't think we created a chance by chance situation in the first half. We had two chances to Kolo and then we scored. If we don't score 3-0, it can be a bit more difficult. Maybe they could have got some momentum then. I see a well-trained, structured team that isn't easy to break down."
He added when asked to give advice for Neestrup: “Jacob is a good coach and knows the game. I don't doubt two things. One he's calm. He's probably irritated because I would be the same when we lose. But he's also calm enough to keep working."
