Harry Kane may be offered a big pay packet to turn down interest from Bayern Munich this summer.

Harry Kane could become one of the best-paid players in the Premier League by remaining at Tottenham, according to reports.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs this summer amid interest from Bayern Munich and others. Tottenham look to have successfully priced Manchester United out of a move, with Daniel Levy unwilling to sell to another Premier League club for a reasonable price, but Levy does not have the same bargaining power when it comes to a move abroad.

Kane has just one year remaining on his current contract, and Tottenham, at the very least, have to consider a sale this summer if the seasoned goalscorer is not going to sign a new deal.

Spurs could yet lose their star man for free next summer, or for a hugely-reduced fee in January, and with a move abroad preferred by the club’s higherups, it seems Bayern Munich are the best candidates, already reportedly submitting two bids.

Tottenham are holding on for now, and they are hoping they can convince Kane to sign a new deal, with new boss Ange Postecoglou set to meet the striker for the first time this week for face-to-face discussions.

Although, the former Celtic boss has not been assured that his club captain will be there for the new season, recently admitting: “I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any assurances, because when you’re dealing with these kinds of things you’re never dealing with definites or certainties.

“I just kind of go along and try to concentrate on the things I know right now. What I know right now is that Harry is part of this squad and he’s looking forward to coming back to training and being amongst these players and starting to work together.”

If Kane is to sign a new contract, The Telegraph report that Tottenham would be willing to offer as much as £400,000-per-week, which matches the Premier League’s highest wage, currently earned by Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne. Though, Kane has made it clear he wants to win trophies and now, given he is coming up to 30 years of age, and so his mind may be elsewhere, especially when he can likely make up the shortfall in wages with commercial opportunities should he become a superstar signing at a club like Bayern.
