Bayern Munich’s board member and  honorary president Uli Hoeness has been speaking about interest in Harry Kane.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane wants to play in the Champions League and that is the driving force behind Bayern Munich’s sustained pursuit of the striker.

Former Bayern president and now board member and honorary president Uli Hoeness, has been speaking about the club’s interest in the England captain and three-time Golden Boot winner.

The German side have reportedly had two bids for him already turned down and a third bid is reported to be on the way, Hoeness insists Kane should be in Germany next season if he sticks to his word because he’s told them he wants to play in the Champions League.

He is quoted by the Evening Standard: “He [Kane] signalled very clearly that his decision was made. And if it stays that way, we’ll get him.

“Levy is clever. First, we have to get him to name a price. He plays for time, and is a great professional. I appreciate him very much. But on the other side [at Bayern] there aren’t any people who have been doing this since yesterday.

“He wants to play internationally [in Europe]. Tottenham won’t be there next season, unlike our club. He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe.

“What we really like about Kane is that his advisors, that is his father and his brother, are very pleasant. So far they have always stood by what they have promised. And if it stays that way, then that’s okay.”

Kane has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Tottenham, where he reported for pre-season training earlier this week and held positive first talks with new head coach Ange Postecoglou before joining his team-mates on a flight to Australia for the first leg of their pre-season tour.

A couple of seasons ago. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy turned down a £100million bid from Manchester City for the striker but with just a year left now, it will be interesting to see if he sticks or twists.
