The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder appears to be seeking a move away from the London club.

Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Højbjerg looks set to quit the club this summer after his Euro 2024 campaign as the player's agent delivers a bombshell transfer admission.

The Denmark international is currently representing his country in Germany, starting his nation's opening fixture against Slovenia yesterday, having been a fringe player under Ange Postecoglou in London last season. Højbjerg made an impressive 36 league appearances but 28 of those were from the bench.

The 28-year-old, who has been at Spurs since completing a £15 million move from Southampton in 2020, formerly played for Bayern Munich, where he won two Bundesliga titles in 2013 and 2014. In recent days, Højbjerg has been linked with several clubs and now his agent has poured fuel onto the fire of a summer move.

As quoted by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the agent said: “A player like him will surely be part of a club with great ambition or project because he is not just a strong player, but with a character made to fight for important things every year. Pierre feels comfortable in the pressure to win and I am working in this sense

“He is telling me that every year he dreams of trophies in the end of the season and don’t like to play for nothing. This is his mindset, this is the mission.

“I am working on the many requests that we have already received, yes; but we will analyse all the possibilities after the Euros, during the holidays when we will spend some time together and then look forward to the next chapter. The national team is giving him back his lost serenity now. I’m 100% sure that whoever signs Højbjerg will do a bargain”.

The Danish international still has another year left on his contract but that could push the club into sanctioning a transfer this summer in order to cash in on the player. Whether Spurs can recoup the £15 million paid to Southampton remains to be seen with the agent suggesting a 'bargain' could be on the cards.

Premier League rivals Fulham are one side reported to be interested in a move for the defensive midfielder. The Cottagers could lose star man Joao Palhinha this summer amid a flurry of bids from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Højbjerg has been touted as a potential replacement.

Meanwhile, former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to work with the player again at his current club Fenerbahce with Turkish rivals Galatasaray also said to be interested.
