Spurs are now headed for Asia, and the club is still working to bring in more new signings. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the North London club.

Gibbs-White deal dead

Tottenham won’t be signing Morgan Gibbs-White after all, with the attacking midfielder deciding to sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest. Spurs were hoping to wrap up a £60million deal for Gibbs-White only for Forest to take legal action over the approach.

The deal has been hanging in the balance, but Gibbs-White has now decided to extend his contract with Forest until 2028, ending any chance of a move.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis said: "Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud. There was significant interest from various clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the heart of it. I promised our fans we would not only compete, but grow stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey."

Gibbs-White added: "I’ve felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable. I believe in what we're building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I’m excited for what’s to come."

Eze chased by Arsenal

Tottenham are said to be very interested in a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but Arsenal are still said to be ‘in contact’ over a potential move for the England international. Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Arsenal remain in contact with Eberechi Eze’s camp since June as the player is keen on the move. No club to club talks yet with Palace as Arsenal work on outgoings as priority now… …with Reiss Nelson to Fulham expected to be next move.”

Arsenal are likely to hold an advantage in a deal for Eze given their realistic title hopes, but Spurs may step up their game after missing out on Gibbs-White. It’s thought Eze could be available for around £60million, which is £8million less than his release clause.

Frank on friendlies

Thomas Frank has spoken after his split squad drew with Wycombe and then defeated Luton Town across Saturday. He told the club website: “Overall, okay, happy. I would say the big take away on the positive side is that we got more or less 75 minutes into most of the players – that was the reason we played two mixed teams and subbed on all the youngsters in both games. So, the physical, minute-wise – box ticked. I’m happy with that.

“Let’s start with the Wycombe game, positives, I felt the high pressure and regaining of the ball was very successful in many ways throughout the game. We regained it I don’t know how many times, but we created six, seven very dangerous situations where we should have done even more and scored a good second goal through Pape. Also, in the first minutes, Wycombe’s runs in behind were good, so we were really focused on that. The big focus is that we defend well, and we gave away two goals we shouldn’t have given away against Wycombe, scored two good goals from Pape, who is another positive in that game.

“We go into the Luton game, that was the game where I felt, ‘okay, there is a bit to be worked on’. That was two mixed teams a little out of sync. The boys put everything into it, they were positive, heads down working hard, but those connections, relationships, they definitely weren’t fluid, but it’s good to have something to work on.”
