Tottenham could yet get an opportunity to snap up a reported target for nothing this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Juventus star Juan Cuadrado in recent months, with the former Chelsea wide man out of contract ahead of next summer.

Cuadrado has been a regular since returning to Italy with Juventus, initially on a loan spell before making his move permanent in 2017.

But his contract has not yet been addressed, and that means Tottenham remain in the hunt to land him this summer.

As per journalist Pipe Sierra, Cuadrado struck a verbal agreement with the Old Lady over a new contract in October, leading to transfer talk dying down.

But since then, the two parties have discovered differences, with reports claiming Juve only want to offer the 33-year-old a two year deal with an option to extend by a further year.

Crucially, it’s also claimed Juve are offering reduced terms, and that is the big reason behind Cuadrado not yet putting pen to paper.

Antonio Conte worked with the Colombian briefly at Chelsea and given his appreciation for a pacey wide man able to play wing-back, Cuadrado could be the perfect addition, especially for free.

It will be interesting to see whether Spurs now seek to take advantage of Juve and Cuadrado’s hesitancy to pull off a deal.
