Latest news and rumours as Tottenham Hotspur weigh up who to appoint as their new manager ahead of the next Premier League season

Tottenham Hotspur are being heavily linked with a swoop for Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou. The London outfit are in the hunt for a new boss to replace Antonio Conte.

Ryan Mason has been in caretaker charge over recent times but the club are poised to bring in someone new before the start of the new season. They finished 8th in the Premier League in this past campaign and will not be in a European competition next term.

Spurs are now reportedly turning to Postecoglou and could appoint him by the start of next week, according to The Sun. He has been in charge of the Glasgow giants since 2021.

The Hoops will apparently try and keep hold of the Australian before it is too late. ESPN claim they will offer him an improved contract to tempt him to stay put in Scotland.

Postecoglou, who is 57-years-old, has won the Scottish Premiership two years in a row with Celtic and has also won the Scottish League Cup twice as well. His side are in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park this weekend against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Prior to his move to Celtic Park, he spent three years in charge of Yokohama F. Marinos and has since used his knowledge of the Japanese market to sign the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda. He has also had spells at Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and with the Australia national team in the past.

Spurs will be carefully weighing up their options and having missed out on Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, the door may now swing open for Postecoglou. He has enjoyed his managerial career so far and has won 53.68% of his 680 games in the dugout so far from all his clubs which suggests he is someone who knows how to win.
