Ange Postecoglou set for massive boost as Spurs turn attention to Aston Villa for another signing

Tottenham closing in on signing Rob MacKenzie from Aston Villa as their chief football recruiter in a bid to strengthen.

Tottenham want to bring Aston Villa’s chief recuritment officer Rob MacKenzie to north London and have began talks according to a report on Football Insider.

This will be the second time MacKenzie will be working for Spurs if the deal is to go through having been at Spurs between 2015 to 2016 .

Tottenham have set their sights on the Villa head of recruitment after announcing on 9th October that Johan Lange was joining from the Midlands giants as their technical director.

News at Tottenham are that the Dane is expected to began work this Wednesday if they can all sign the dotted lines and get everything across the line.

Tottenham are keen to reunite Lange with MacKenzie, who has been head of recruitment at Villa since August 2020.

He has previously held senior recruitment roles at Derby County and Belgian club OH Leuven, after making his name as head of player identification at Tottenham, which involved recommending scouting targets to the club’s transfer team.

Tottenham have been forced into going for new football directors and technical men following the ban to Fabio Paratici who still plays a advisory role to the some clubs. He however just is not allowed to work fully for any football at the club at the moment.

Tottenham have had a strong start to the season and are sat top of the Premier League as they welcome former manager Mauricio Pochettino back to north London as they look to continue their brilliant start to the campaign.
