'Done deal': Ange Postecoglou gets his man as Tottenham set to confirm signing of Champions League winner

Tottenham have taken up the option to sign Timo Werner on a season-long loan and the German will stay in North London for the 2024/2025 season, LondonWorld can confirm.
The 28-year-old won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 before returning to Germany with RB Leipzig where despite his best efforts just never really discovered his best goalscoring form.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou who brought him to the club in January hinted the deal was close when asked about the future of the German international after the friendly defeat to Newcastle in Australia last week.
He told Football. London: "I think from our perspective there's a deadline there. Again a lot of that will depend on the negotiations between the clubs and how Timo feels. Again from my perspective, I'm comfortable with that situation and I'll let the other guys steer it to see what kind of outcome there is."
Werner is the kind of player Postecoglou loves as he can beat his man and put the ball in a dangerous area for others to finish. The deal being done signals Postecoglou’s vow to build the foundations of the club after saying they were 'fragile' following the defeat to Manchester City.
