'On track': Ange Postecoglou drops major Tottenham injury boost ahead of Arsenal as £60m star set to return

Tottenham are preparing to take on Arsenal in one of the most anticipated North London derbies of recent times.

Tottenham are set to welcome Richarlison back to the squad ahead of the North London derby this weekend, LondonWorld has been told. The £60million signing from Everton a couple of seasons ago has missed the last two games in 19 days due to a knee injury.

But sources at the club’s Enfield training ground say he’s been training and is likely to provide a major boost to manager Ange Postecoglou ahead of the meeting with Mikel Arteta’s in-form side.

This season, Richarlison has enjoyed a decent campaign, scoring 10 league goals in 25 games and assisting three before being stopped by this latest knee injury.

Asked what his situation was ahead of the last game against Newcastle, Spurs boss Postecoglou hinted he was on his way back and could be involved at the weekend.

He told reporters this month: "Not for this week ( 5th August). He's close and, obviously with the weekend off next weekend, it'll give him time to recover - and he's on track to do that. Everyone else from last weekend has got through unscathed and are ready to go."

Spurs need a massive lift

Tottenham's hopes of securing Champions League football for next season took a massive hit against Newcastle. But they have a perfect opportunity to land a blow to Arsenal’s title aspirations while boosting their own chances of catching up with Aston Villa.

They will have to find a way to stop Bukayo Saka following injury to left-back Destiny Udogie. The Italian confirmed he’d taken surgery and can only contribute by supporting his teammates to get the job done.
