The 23-year-old has been sidelined since December with a thigh injury he sustained in a friendly against Juventus.
Nelson, a Hale End academy graduate, featured heavily during the mid-season friendlies where he scored against AC Milan, but has been pushed further down the pecking order after the arrival of Leandro Trossard in January.

Crystal Palace and Brentford were among the teams who enquired about Nelson last summer, with the winger keen on extending his stay in north London.
When asked if he wants to stay at Arsenal, Nelson told football.london:
“Of course! I’ve been here since I was eight and Arsenal is all I know. I’m only a couple of minutes from the stadium, all my family is there. So of course I’d love to stay.”

“So to be playing, even in games just like this I’m delighted. Of course, injuries are just a minor setback, but of course, I just look towards the future and hopefully, I can play many more years at the club.”
Nelson joined Arsenal’s academy aged nine and he is one of several players who could leave this summer, with Folarin Balogun also facing an uncertain future.
