The Crystal Palace star’s future is of financial significance to QPR this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be competing with Manchester United in the race to sign talented Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze this summer. The Premier League transfer is of significance to QPR with the Championship outfit set to benefit financially from any sale.

In February, The Sun reported that Spurs had 'shortlisted' Eze as a summer target with the Eagles’ man's attacking prowess something that could work in an Ange Postecoglou side. Now, former Spurs star Michael Dawson has urged the club to actively go after that deal.

Speaking on Sky Sports, as picked up by TeamTalk, Dawson criticised the potency of Tottenham Hotspur's current attacking options. He added: "I mean, for me, you look at Eze, Olise, how much are these players going to cost? That is your question to go out there and have a look."

Manchester United are another club who have been hotly tipped for a summer move for Eze. The Red Devils, who have also been linked with interest in Michael Olise, are supposedly willing to pay £60 for Eze.

Last week, reports suggested that Crystal Palace would be willing to listen to bids of £60 million and above for both Eze and Olise. The former moved to Selhurst Park from QPR in 2020 for a fee of around £17 million.

Eze, who racked up 112 appearances and 23 goals for the Rs between 2016 and 2020, was sold to the Premier League side with an additional 20% sell-on clause to benefit QPR. Therefore, should he depart for £60 million, the west London club can expect a significant windfall of around £12 million.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has remained open to the idea of Eze leaving the club this summer with a pragmatic approach to the transfer window. Speaking about Olise and Marc Guehi as well as Eze earlier this month he said: “What we can do is show that Crystal Palace is the right place for every single player.

“It’s important that the level Crystal Palace are playing fits to the level that the players are playing at — in both directions. If a player is too good for Crystal Palace, the possibility that he changes the club is high. The same the other way, if the quality of Crystal Palace is too high for a player.

“All we can do is show our ambition, show them they are very important players for us, show them from a sports perspective that we are competitive with many teams in the Premier League, that we want to improve, and that they play key parts in our system.

“But there is also no guarantee. The transfer window, when it opens, is sometimes crazy for several weeks. We are part of it and can’t stop it, but we do our job — showing them the vision, showing them how we want to play, what their role can be. We will see what happens."
