The Championship is back this month as clubs prepare to return from the World Cup break. QPR, Millwall and Watford will be itching to play league football again.

QPR are considering a move for Manchester City academy coach Brian Barry-Murphy, according to a report by the Daily Mail. The 44-year-old has worked for the Premier League champions since 2021 having previously managed Rochdale in the Football League.

Former Sheffield United and Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder wants the R’s job, as per The Sun. He was sacked by Boro earlier this season after their poor start.

Millwall

Leeds United have no plans to recall Charlie Cresswell from his loan at Millwall in January. That’s according to Football Insider, who claim the Whites are ‘not planning’ to bring him back to Elland Road this winter.

Ryan Leonard and Benik Afobe are doubts for the Lions’ clash against Sunderland this weekend, whilst Tyler Burey also needs to train if he is to be in contention to play after missing last weekend’s friendly against Brondby, as per London News Online.

Watford

Watford’s proposed new Technical Director Ben Manga will be bringing some scouts with him to Vicarage Road, as detailed in a report by the Watford Observer. He has recently left Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Young Hornets striker Tobi Adeyemo has been loaned out to Hitchin Town. The 17-year-old has been allowed to depart to get some experience under his belt.
