The R's picked up another point against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend in a second consecutive Championship draw. Marti Cifuentes' last win came earlier this month against League One side Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup.
QPR and the Hatters will face off two times in four days this week with a league meeting lined up on Friday evening at Kenilworth Road after midweek action under the lights at Loftus Road.
QPR team news
QPR are set to be without the influential Ilias Chair once again in midweek action. The Morocco international, who picked up seven goals and eight assists last term, is yet to feature this campaign has he nurses a back injury picked up in pre-season.
Chair had been involved in pre-season preparations but was absent from friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Reading. Speaking on that injury last week, Cifuentes said: “Perhaps we thought it could be less aggressive, but unfortunately it’s a lower back issue that will keep him away for some more weeks.
“I said we were waiting for some tests – and unfortunately the tests showed the development is more or less as we expected. I’m always optimistic and thought it might be a faster process, but the reality is that it’s a bone bruise and it takes time.”
Defender Morgan Fox is another player who is yet to feature in a matchday squad this season as he nurses an injury and is set to miss out of the Carabao Cup clash.
Meanwhile, QPR are likely to make do without playmaker Lucas Andersen. The Danish star was substituted in the first half against Sheffield United earlier this month after injuring his groin while taking a corner and was subsequently absent at the weekend.

Jack Colback is ineligible for the meeting with Luton Town as he serves the second of a two match ban for dissent-related red cards. The 34-year-old was sent off against the Blades but can be selected again against Luton Town when the sides meet again on Friday in the Championship.
Luton Town team news
Rob Edwards named defenders Reece Burke and Mads Andersen on the bench for the first time this season as Luton Town were defeated by Preston North End at the weekend. The Hatters boss promised those players minutes against QPR if they didn't face Preston.
Last week, Edwards said: “If they do not feature this weekend then we’ll look to get them minutes at QPR on Tuesday night."
Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is facing a race against time to be fit in time for the midweek cup action but could make his first Luton appearance of the season in London.
Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski was sent off against Portsmouth earlier this month and missed the visit to Preston but is now eligible to face QPR with his ban served. New loan signing Tom Krauß isn't expected to return from an ankle injury until after the break with Daiki Hashioka, Jacob Brown and Tom Lockyer also sidelined.
