Leeds ‘identify’ Kamara replacement

Leeds United are said to be pushing to land Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp as they prepare to lose Glen Kamara. Kamara looks set to depart to Rennes after just a year, and on a deal worth as much as £8.4million.

Planet Sport report that the Whites are now pushing for a lead to land Skipp, potentially on a loan deal with a view to making it permanent at a later date. Tottenham are said to be keen to bring in another midfielder before allowing Skipp to depart.

Summerville latest

Newcastle United are said to be interested in a deal to land Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville this summer. Journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport: "There is interest in him (Summerville). We know Brighton have taken a look. We know that he could still be on Chelsea's radar. Newcastle are also interested in the player. So it will still be a big surprise if between now and the end of the window, given how many clubs want players in his position, it will be a surprise if somebody doesn't make a formal offer for Summerville.

"Then ultimately, Leeds will speak to the player, and they'll have a big decision to make. But if there are exits at Leeds, it will be because it suits all parties, rather than because Leeds are scrambling, financially speaking, or are forced to sell."

Palmer on Hayden links

QPR have been linked with a permanent deal for Newcastle United star Isaac Hayden this summer, and pundit Carlton Palmer has had his say on the links. He told Football League World: “QPR are very keen on signing Isaac Hayden from Newcastle on a permanent contract. He returned to Newcastle after his loan spell from Christmas to the end of the season. He was very instrumental in helping Cifuentes' side avoid relegation. “He has two years left on his current deal. The 29-year-old made 17 appearances for QPR as they finished 18th. It looks like the stumbling block is his salary. Newcastle have made it clear that he is surplus to requirements and QPR would like to make this a permanent deal. Obviously, with Chris Willock going to Cardiff, that will free up some money.

“It's come out that the player himself is keen to be part of Cifuentes' team, but no agreement on personal terms has been reached, and that will be needed to get the deal over the line. If the deal can't be done, then QPR will look to loan him again for the season, but Newcastle are keen to get Hayden off of their wage bill. There will be other clubs that are interested in him in the Championship too. QPR remain the favourites. The player enjoyed his time there, enjoyed playing for Cifuentes, but it remains to be seen whether they can meet the player's wage demands.”
