All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Championship clubs as we move into match week one.

The Championship season is almost here with just days to go until the big kick-off. Both Millwall and QPR are now done with their friendlies, both losing to Premier League opposition over the weekend, albeit very narrowly.

Both teams lost 1-0, but the performances will, hopefully, have given Marti Cifuentes and Neil Harris all the information they need to lock in their respective starting XIs. In the meantime, we have rounded up al the latest news and transfer rumours from around the Championship.

Rowe ‘talks’

Leeds United are said to have begun talks with Norwich City over the possible signing of Jon Rowe, according to The Telegraph’s John Percy. The Whites are looking to replace Crysencio Summerville, who has joined West Ham United, and they are said to have identified Rowe as the solution.

The Canaries are also set to lose star man Gabriel Sara to Galatasaray, which may make them reluctant to sell. Rowe scored 12 goals last season, and it’s claimed Leeds could bid around £7million for his services with early talks having already been held.

Campbell scramble

QPR are said to be interested in a move for former Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell, but they will face plenty of competition if they do make a move. Campbell was released by the Potters at the end of last season, and he has been patient in choosing a club amid a difficult summer that saw the passing of his father, Kevin.

According to reports, there is now a scramble for the forward’s signature, with WalesOnline saying Swansea City are pushing to land a deal, but that there is competition from various EFL clubs. The Daily Mail say West Brom, QPR, Sheffield United, Cardiff City, Preston North End and Rangers are all interested.

Campbell said upon his Stoke exit: “Since having conversations last week and learning my time at the Club would be coming to an end, I’ve had some time to reflect on my last 8 years…I joined Stoke City as a boy with a dream of playing in the Premier League. Whilst I wish that for the Club and myself it had happened more often, I will be forever grateful to those who made it a reality.

"I leave a man with memories that will stay with me for life. I have met teammates that will be friends and brothers for life. Thank you to the fans who have supported me through the good times and the bad, it has meant the world to me. To my teammates, coaches, staff and everyone I had the pleasure to work with, thank you for everything. I’ll never forget my time here and the club has a special place in my heart."

Harris responds

Millwall boss Neil Harris has responded to reports of interest in West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby. “We’ve been linked with a lot of players in the last 10-14 days and rightly so because we’re looking to add to the group,” Harris told the South London Press. “Hopefully before Saturday but certainly in the next three weeks.

“Jayson is obviously a player I know well because I signed him originally from Brighton and I’ve really enjoyed staying in contact with him and watching him mature.”
