London relegation rivals in the Championship, QPR and Millwall, are both on their travels this weekend as they look to stay in the second division with just a handful of fixtures left this season.

Marti Cifuentes' side fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough at Loftus Road last time out but will still be confident as they arrive at Sunderland given recent form. Meanwhile, spirits are high at The Den as Neil Harris continues unbeaten since his return.

Both clubs feature in your Thursday Championship round-up.

Former QPR star Todd Kane has returned to football with League Two outfit Stockport County, signing a short-term deal as a free agent having left Gibraltar side Manchester 62 on New Year's Day.

The defender, who made 65 appearances for the Rs between 2019 and 2021, will bid to help Stockport to promotion into League One. The club currently sits third in the fourth division, just three points off league leaders Mansfield Town.

Kane, who arrived at Loftus Road from Chelsea, may be most remembered for a seven-game ban received as a result of using abusive language to Brentford star Sergi Canos. Since leaving the club in 2021, Kane moved on to Coventry City but may have dropped off the radar of football fans with underwhelming stints at Charlton Athletic and then in Gibraltar.

Welcoming the 30-year-old, Director of Football at Stockport, Simon Wilson said: “Todd joins us for this important final run of games to support the first-team group with his experience and quality. After losing Macca, Kyle, Akil and even more recently Will Collar, Todd helps strengthen our right back/wing back position. He has shown a real desire to be at the club and help us, and I’m sure he can.”

Neil Harris gives fighting talk ahead of Leeds United

Millwall head coach Neil Harris has sent a rallying cry to his side as he bigs up this weekend's clash with promotion-chasing Leeds United. The Lions have been revived since Harris' return and haven't lost a fixture in their last four league outings.

Last weekend's last-gasp winner against fellow strugglers Birmingham City was a high but it is the win against high-flyers Southampton that really turned heads. This weekend, Millwall travel to Leeds United and Harris has bigged up the match ahead of another potential giant-killing.

The coach told Southwark News: "When West Ham and Palace and Charlton aren’t in the league, then yeah Leeds is the next one [that I look forward to]. I’m fortunate to have played in, scored and managed in quite a lot of these games and have a tremendous record against Leeds. I enjoy it and want my players to enjoy it.

“Let’s get it right. Leeds are a very good side and they’re as good a Championship side as I’ve seen this season, definitely as good as Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich. Leeds look as good as they have had for a long time so we know the challenge that awaits.

“Elland Road is a brilliant football theatre. It’s one of the few places that rivals The Den for atmosphere in my opinion across the English pyramid system. There’s great football theatres at Anfield and St James’ Park but outside those grounds that hold 50,000, The Den is an awesome place that people fear and you have Elland Road, which brings out the best in people. It’s always brought out the best in me. I look forward to seeing my team at the weekend.”
