Glasner vow

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has promised to take Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup clash with QPR seriously. “It’s our duty to take the EFL Cup very seriously,” said Glasner. “It was only Daniel Munoz [from the international players] who played 90 minutes last week. All the others were on the bench. Both of the Colombians came back on Thursday afternoon. Chris Richards and Matt Turner came back on Thursday morning.

“We have them as starting options for the QPR game – that’s important. We will take it seriously. We want to go through to the next round. I mentioned after Norwich that we play in the EFL Cup to win it. I don’t know if it will happen, but it’s an all-or-nothing game, and we like those games.”

Harris on Longstaff

Millwall boss Neil Harris issued his verdict on new signing Macauley Langstaff after the Lions lost to Luton over the weekend. “Macauley Langstaff looked bright today,” he said, as per South London Press.

“I thought that was his best performance in a Millwall shirt, he just missed that moment in that one-on-one. Hopefully he gets his first Millwall goal very quickly and it settles him down and he shows his qualities as a goalscorer. We do a lot of work on the training pitch and he’s a really good lad who wants to learn and adapt to the level. He’s being really patient with himself.”

Farke ‘under pressure’

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is already ‘under pressure’, according to Football Insider, with the Whites losing 1-0 to Burnley at home over the weekend. Leeds have eight points from their first five games, winning only twice, and they are expecting to be title contenders this summer.

Having said that, Farke turned it around last season and for a second successive summer, the club did not finalise his squad until the final minutes of the transfer window. Despite that, the report claims Farke is under pressure and will need to turn things around quickly.
