Cardiff City handed fresh manager search update as QPR relegation clash looms large
QPR face fellow strugglers Cardiff City next week with the R’s in desperate need of Championship points.
Cardiff City look set to host QPR in Wales next week with Omer Riza still interim manager after almost two months working in the caretaker position.

The Bluebirds sacked Erol Bulut at the end of September with the club sitting bottom of the Championship having managed just one point from their opening six fixtures. Riza stepped in on an interim basis but is still in the role having lifted the side above QPR and into 22nd with 15 points.
It had been expected that there could be some clarity as to whether Riza would be offered the role permanently or whether a new face would arrive at the Cardiff City Stadium during the current international break. The interim boss even flew out to Malaysia last week to talk with Cardiff City owner Omar Vincent Tan about the matter.
However, it appears little has come from those meetings. Riza told The Non League Round Up Show: "I'm still interim - anything can happen between now and [January]. If you don't get a good result or a couple of bad results, potentially someone else can come in.
"I just have to keep doing what I'm doing. The team has to keep fighting, they are working so hard for me. Players have put it on record that they want me here. Fans (opinions) have gone from sort of 20% to 80%. So we are in the right direction, it's just that pressure now of winning the next block of games and kicking on from there.
"Each block is important, but when you're not permanent, you can't look too far ahead."

The Bluebirds had managed six games unbeaten under Riza but lost their way a little before the break with back-to-back defeats against Luton Town and Blackburn Rovers. Next up for Cardiff City is a trip to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
The Welsh outfit will then host Marti Cifuetnes' QPR side under the lights on Wednesday, November 27 in a 7:45 pm kick-off. Should the R's beat Stoke City and Cardiff City lose to Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, the London outfit could climb above the Bluebirds with a win in the Welsh capital.
