It’s a tricky trip to high-flying Burnley up next for QPR as Marti Cifuentes looks for a second league win of the season.

QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes will be grateful for a point against Coventry City ahead of a tricky run of Championship fixtures.

That draw put an end to four straight league defeats for the R's and moved the London outfit off the bottom of the table. Next up is a trip to Burnley before welcoming Sunderland to Loftus Road next weekend.

Here's your Burnley vs QPR team news.

Burnley team news

Manuel Benson could face months on the sidelines having picked up a calf injury in Burnley's derby against Blackburn Rovers in August. Jordan Beyer is another longer term absentee having undergone a second operation on a knee injury, which has kept him out for 11 months now.

Hannes Delcroix hasn't played since March and will miss out against QPR despite making progress on his recovery and Hjalmar Ekdal is yet to play this season too. Defender Joe Worrall will also miss out with a foot injury picked up in September.

Striker Lyle Foster picked up a knee injury during the recent international break and is expected to need weeks to recover. Aaron Ramsey is back on grass training but is still a 'long way' off a first team return.

Nathan Redmond is also training on grass again and is closer to a return but QPR could come too soon. Mike Tresor is also edging close to his comeback.

QPR team news

QPR are still missing midfielder Jack Colback but the 34-year-old won't be back in action against Burnley. The veteran has undergone surgery on a knee problem and need 'a few weeks', which could point to a November return.

Cifuentes said: “Jack Colback has unfortunately had to have small surgery on his knee. Against Sheffield Wednesday he got [what seemed] a minor injury but, in the end, conservative treatment was not enough. It will take some weeks for him to recover.”

QPR were handed two new injury concerns in midweek too. Michael Frey was absent from the matchday squad to take on Coventry City, watching on from the stands, while Kenneth Paal was substituted before the 10 minute mark.

Speaking after the match, Cifuentes clarified: “It’s a muscular issue in his thigh [for Paal]. We need to see what’s going on there, probably tomorrow he is going to have some tests. It’s a little bit the same with Michi [Frey]. Yesterday he got a calf feeling in training, it’s a small injury so we’ll see if he’s ready for Saturday.”

Liam Morrison is a longer term absentee with a knee injury while Rayan Kolli is a doubt, having not been in the Championship squad since August.
