Millwall could be bracing for Premier League transfer interest in centre-back Japhet Tanganga this January as Alex Neil takes the hot seat at The Den.
Rising star Romain Esse is known to be a target for Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest but those are not the only two Premier League clubs sniffing around The Den following the upheaval of an unexpected managerial change. Former Spurs defender Tanganga has now been linked with a top flight switch.

Tanganga spent the back end of last season on loan with Millwall and the Championship club worked hard to make that deal permanent. The defender has started every one of the side's Championship fixtures this term and turned heads with his performances.
Wolves monitoring Japhet Tanganga deal
New Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is said to view the player as the answer to his team's defensive frailties but is aware that Tanganga would not be sold for cheap. His transfer plans could be helped by Neil Harris' departure, with the former Millwall head coach known to have a close relationship with the defender.
Speaking in November, Harris said: "I get on brilliantly with Japh. I just promised him rhythm, games, doing the best we can to keep him fit and giving him a platform to enjoy his football, and to restart and kickstart his career again, because he’s a Premier League player all day long, we all know that. We want him on the pitch every week and he knows his place in the team. I know what he’s excellent at, which is pretty much everything."

The report adds that Tanganga 'is happy to see out' the season at The Den but there is an agreement between the player and the club that any Premier League bid be considered in January. It is added that the defender would be more tempted by a return to the Premier League than a move overseas.
The Millwall man has played 27 times in the Premier League thanks to his time at Spurs and had appeared keen to return to the top flight to work under Ange Postecoglou when leaving his loan spell at Millwall this year.
Former Spurs man holds Premier League ambitions
Speaking in the summer, Tanganga said: "Yes, I am looking forward to working with Ange. Before I came out on loan to Germany, I was welcomed by him in pre-season and obviously I saw his ideas and did like them. Everyone can see that he's very attack-minded, likes to keep the ball, and he's doing well, so I'm looking forward to seeing his ideas and being a part of it.
"My focus is to build on from my spell at Millwall, with the number of games I played. You want to be in a position where you're playing week in, week out, so whether that's at Spurs or somewhere else, that is something that needs to be discussed in the future and we’ll see where we go from there.

"It's been very important to have a consistent run of games because when you're not fit, you start doubting yourself, so not only for others to see that I can play consistently, but also for myself. With the injuries you start doubting yourself and start thinking, can I play as regularly without my body breaking down?
"But thankfully, that hasn't happened, and I've shown that I can do it, I just needed time for my body to adjust, and for me to learn my body. Now, hopefully, I can kick on and play more than I've played at Millwall – maybe it's 30 games in a season or 40 games in a season."
