QPR ‘close in’ on deal

QPR are said to be closing in on Westerlo striker Nicolas Madsen, according to reports. GvA report that Madsen travelled to West London on Tuesday to complete his medical ahead of wrapping up a deal.

The 24-year-old is set to make the move on an undisclosed fee with QPR adding to their large haul of transfers this summer. Madsen scored 14 goals in 35 games last season.

Harris on transfers

Millwall boss Neil Harris has admitted he has been left frustrated with the lack of arrivals at The Den this summer. He told the South London Press: “I have been very honest, open and passionate with my thought processes with needing players in the building.

“Everyone understands my frustration towards it. The fans can certainly see how much effort, commitment and dedication the players gave for 78 minutes at Bristol City, but they can see the difference between the two squads. Our rival brings on quality and game-changers, and we struggle to see the game out because we can’t make one or two subs.”

Harris added: “We will add players to the group before next Friday’s deadline. We have to. At the moment, we’re working with a core group of 14 outfield players. That’s untenable in the Championship. That has been shown in the first two games of the season.”

Benson to Leeds?

Leeds United are said to be pushing to sign Burnley man Manuel Benson ahead of the deadline as they look to close the gaps in their squad following a number of big-money departures this summer.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri tweeted: “Manuel Benson about to leave #BurnleyFC this summer! Talks on a permanent move are currently taking place with huge interest of Leeds United. Sunderland FC & Norwich City (if Jonathan Rowe leaves the club…) also on it. Personal terms won't be a problem.…”
