Oxford United boss Des Buckingham has been impressed but not surprised by Millwall’s strong start to the season. “They’re probably where they should be,” he told The Herald Series. “I think with the squad they’ve got and the manager they’ve got, they’re a very established club and sitting ninth in the league. They’re similar to some of the other teams maybe in false positions that are lower down the table at the moment.
“Although they haven’t blown away teams in terms of scorelines, what they have been is be very effective with how they play. They’ve had a run of 1-0 games, and they manage the game extremely well. I’m not really surprised, the table is starting to balance itself out a little bit.”
Cleverley wants better
Watford boss Tom Cleverley wants better from his side when they face QPR on Saturday despite beating Bristol City during the week. “I thought three changes on Tuesday was just the right balance to freshen things up,” he told the Watford Observer.
“We have real strength in depth in most areas of our squad, so it might be a case of a couple more changes just to keep things fresh. We want to make sure we see a more bubbly performance than we did in the first half on Tuesday. What we know for Saturday is we’re going to have to be better than we were in the first half on Tuesday.”

Leeds United are said to be considering a deal to sign Motherwell talent Lennon Miller. That’s according to Graeme Bailey, who told LeedsUnited.News: “Leeds have a rich history with Scottish football and it is not shock to see them interested in Lennon Miller, who some north of the border regard as a generational talent.
“Celtic and Rangers are keen, as well as some of the Premier League’s elite talent, but I am told Leeds have also watched him closely, as have sister outfits RB Leipzig and Salzburg. Miller basically has his pick of clubs, Leeds hope to be in the mix but given the interest in him it will be tough to land him.”
