Harris on contracts

Millwall boss Neil Harris has confirmed that the club are discussing possible new deals with Duncan Watmore and George Honeyman, who are both in the final year of their respective deals. “What I can say is that the football club are very aware that there is a core group of senior players who are going to be out of contract at the end of the season,” Harris told the South London Press.

“You go through transfer windows and then you have a settling period. Then discussions start with players who are fit and in form. It just becomes about timing about when those discussions take place. I don’t think any player will be thinking about having those discussions at the moment and I don’t think the football club will be discussing with players at the moment. As the months evolve, naturally those conversations take place.

“You mention about Duncan and George, arguably two of the best performers in our team and two of the best performers in the league, probably, in the opening four games. Duncan has had his reward with the goals.  George hasn’t had his reward with goals but his performances have been phenomenal with and without the ball. They have been a key part to how I see the team creating. The important thing for us is keeping them fit. They have both had recent injuries, so the importance of keeping fit, as it is for two or three other players in the starting 11 who have injury records, is going to be paramount in our season.”

Rohl on injury concerns

Sheffield Wednesday are battling injury issues ahead of their clash with QPR this weekend. Owls boss Danny Rohl has said, as per the Sheffield Star: "We have some question marks, it was a tough week in this direction,” Röhl said.

“We have a Dom Iorfa, with Michael Ihiekwe, and with Di’Shon Bernard. So you can count how many centre backs are available at the moment, or how many are really strong. But we’ll try, and I’m positive that we’ll find a way. Nath is still not available, but that is it.”

Farke on Leeds team news

Daniel Farke is concerned about the involvement of his two new signings due to their late returns from international duty. He told reporters ahead of his side’s tricky-looking clash with Burnley this weekend: “Manor Solomon and Ao Tanaka, they have to leave straight away without one training session. Then one training session tomorrow for one day before a game, not easy or not great.

“It’s always tricky because you can only train tomorrow. They play with different set-ups, different principles, it’s always tricky. It’s a good problem to have, we have many international players.”
