Ivanovic injury latest

Millwall’s club record signing Mihailo Ivanovic will see a specialist this week as he continues to battle injury despite his recent Serbia call-up, a call-up that caused the club to release a statement.

“He’s going to see a specialist this week here to determine what the next step is for him. At the moment, that’s unclear until Thursday afternoon to determine what the next steps are going to be<” Millwall boss Neil Harris has said. “He will see a top specialist in London and then we will be able to make a formal plan off that.

“We will update everybody after Thursday to what the future looks like for Mihailo in the coming weeks, days and months. We’re very hopeful that there is going to be a resolution very quickly and that he’s on the pitch in the short term for us. The bigger picture is that he’s signed a long term contract with us. He’s been called up to the Serbian national team at 19. His pedigree and potential is there for everyone to see The bright future that we all hope he’s got has been well-documented in Serbia, is important to the Serbian FA. We have a very good working relationship with the Serbian FA.”

Goodman on Sunderland

"There's nothing quite like winning to help players and fans buy into a new regime. The opening game against Cardiff was a standard 'no-thrills and no-spills' victory, but since then, I covered their match against Sheffield Wednesday, who had just smashed Plymouth. I went to the Stadium of Light thinking 'This could be a difficult game' but they blew Wednesday away. They were incredible.”

Prutton on Farke pressure

David Prutton has warned Daniel Farke that he must get Leeds United promoted this season after the Whites suffered defeat in the playoff final last season.

“From Farke’s point of view, the pressure’s on, have to get promoted,” Prutton told Essential EFL podcast. “Again, [it’s] quite cut and dry but that’s what Leeds are in the Championship. Early signs are looking good.” Leeds have picked up eight points from their first four games.
