Millwall player's agent sends 'worth it' transfer message amid building interest
Millwall could receive interest in one of their highest rated players this summer.
Millwall have a fresh transfer concern just months after signing what looks to be a key player. The Lions picked up a big win on Saturday, leaving it late to seal a win over strugglers Derby County away from home. Josh Coburn scored five minutes into stoppage time to secure the win, and the Lions ensured their winless run did not extend past three games.
One of the key players so far this season has been late summer signing Mihailo Ivanovic, who was a bold investment from the London club given their spending habits over the years.
Millwall spent around £2.5million to sign the striker from Vojvodina, and he has not disappointed. The 20-year-old striker has scored five goals in his first 24 Championship appearances, including three in his last seven, showing real signs of finding his feet at this level.
Still a young player and showing plenty of promise, there are already whispers of Ivanovic attracting interest from clubs abroad, and particularly in Italy, but his agent, Vlado Borozan, has warned that Millwall won’t be willing to sell on the cheap, given the recency of their investment and the clear signs that it was a wise one.
Borozan told Tuttomercatoweb: “Taking him away from England now will be a difficult task, he is increasing his numbers and with them also his value. He is physical and knows how to score goals, he is twenty years old, he would certainly be worth it.”
The agent added on the rumours involving Italian clubs: “Many clubs in Italy could think about Ivanovic, having established himself in a very difficult league like the Championship. Of course, for those who want to take him he will not be cheap.”
Ivanovic is under contract until the summer of 2027, so if Millwall are to sell, they will be in a strong negotiation point as far as the fee is concerned, likely to demand a significant profit.
