Millwall midfielder George Honeyman is heading into his final year of his contract. The former Sunderland and Hull City man is due to become a free agent in the summer of 2025 as things stand.

He made the switch to The Den back in 2022 and has since made 61 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with one goal and five assists. The North East-born man has had this to say about his future, as per a report by London News Online: “I’ve got one more year left on my contract – which is motivation in itself – but I had a goalkeeping coach at Sunderland, Mark Prudhoe, who always used to tell me: ‘Whenever you sign a contract, the next day you have to go out and earn your next one’. I kind of live by that motto.

“I’m not one of those that down tools for two years and then go ‘alright, I’ve got one year on my contract – I’ll tie my boots up!.”

Attacking midfielder hailed

Millwall boss Neil Harris has heaped praise on Zian Flemming and has said he is a ‘pleasure’ to manage. The Dutchman, who is 25-years-old, has been a key player for the Lions since joining them in 2022 and has scored 19 goals in 64 outings, four of which have come in this campaign.

The ex-Fortuna Sittard attacking midfielder will now be eager to help keep the Lions in the second tier. Harris has said, as per an interview with the Southwark News: “First and foremost, he’s a really good man. He’s a man that really cares. He’s a really good person. And his training temperament and characteristics are fantastic.

“He asks loads of questions, wants to learn and develop his game. Wants to play at the best level possible so he’s always pushing himself hard.

“I’ve been really pleased with him. He’s a pleasure to work with. He’s scored two goals and arguably could have a couple more from the other day [Rotherham]. But that’s the positions he wants to put himself in.

“He puts himself forward to lead the team in that position just behind the striker and I’ve got no doubts that goals will come as that’s what he’s done his whole career.”
