Chair and Fox boosts

QPR have received a double fitness boost with Ilias Chair and Morgan Fox getting valuable game time as they look to build match fitness. QPR played against Wycombe Wanderers in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday afternoon, and both featured.

Chair played 61 minutes in all, while Fox played a full game, with both players having missed the best part of two months at the start of the season. They should now be in line to play bigger parts going forward, especially with another full week of training under their belts ahead of the next game.

Coburn boost

Middlesbrough have a recall clause on Josh Coburn’s loan deal to Millwall, with the revelation causing concern for Lions fans. But since the emergence of the clause, there has been some good news, with Teesside Live reporting that Boro do not plan to use the clause any time soon.

Coburn has a calf injury at present, but it’s reported that Millwall are happy for him to continue to develop at The Den, and that will likely remain the case unless there is some sort of injury disaster at The Riverside.

Bamford on Leeds exit contemplation

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has admitted he considered leaving the club before eventually deciding to stay put. Speaking to 72+: The EFL Podcast, he said: “I wouldn’t say it ever made me want to hang the boots up and finish football, I’ll know when the time is right for that, but at a point, when I knew my family wasn’t comfortable here, being honest at that point, I wanted to leave. I wanted a fresh start and wanted to get somewhere where it was a new start for the family, something fresh and it was just normal, as easy as that sounds. “It wasn’t until sitting down and thinking about it, I had to make sure my missus was okay with it, and reassure her it won’t happen again by putting measures in place. I knew it was a tough one for me because, after going down, there was still unfinished business with Leeds because I felt like I hadn’t been able to contribute for the last 18 months in the Prem. Part of me wanted to really start somewhere new, that would almost be the easy option. Over that summer, there was a lot of thinking hard about it, having a few chats and that. In the end, I said I didn’t want to take the easy option and the easy way out.”
