Mitchell blow

Millwall have been dealt an injury blow, with Billy Mitchell set to miss the start of the season through injury. As reported by the Southwark News, the 23-year-old will be absent for a few weeks after picking up a thigh injury against Gillingham in a pre-season friendly.

The Lions boss told NewsAtDen: “Billy Mitchell has got a thigh injury and a muscle tear in his quad. Quads, hamstrings and calves are very problematic over the pre-season period and we’re unfortunate that Billy has picked up that injury but we’re hoping he’s not going to miss too much of the season.”

Leeds deal ‘close

Leeds United are set to loan out Rasmus Kristensen, according to Tipsbladet. The Danish defender was signed during the Whites’ Premier League season, and was sent out to AS Roma following relegation.

Rather than being sold this summer, Kristensen will spend another season out on loan, reportedly close to joining Eintracht Frankfurt for the coming campaign.

Adams ‘deal struck’

Derby County are finally said to have reached an agreement over the permanent signing of Ebou Adams. Adams spent the second half of last season on loan from Cardiff City, playing a key role in the Rams midfield to help them secure promotion to the Championship.

Derby made no secret about their attempts to make the move permanent, with owner David Clowes recently telling BBC Derby: "At the end of the day, he’s a Cardiff City player, I mean they’re going to have a say in this, aren’t they? When pushed on what's stopping a deal being done, he replied with a chuckle: “Well, let’s see, let’s see what happens.

“I mean, there’s not only Ebou, there’s a lot of players we’re looking at so you can’t just say 'right', one player. Let’s have a look at who else is out there as well.” He added: “Well, he certainly made a difference, I think if he had started the season with Derby we would have won the title," he ventured. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that but he made a massive contribution and he’s a nice guy and his family are really nice people.”

On the back of those comments, Football Insider are now saying Derby have reached a £1million agreement with Cardiff. The Bluebirds were not using Adams frequently, while he only has one year remaining on his deal. And with the midfielder having signed for the club for free, it will be pure profit for the South Wales club.
