All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Millwall, QPR and their Championship rivals.

The Championship resumed over the weekend with clubs up and down the second tier returning to action following the international break. Millwall were narrowly beaten by Luton Town at home on Saturday, while QPR conceded and then scored in stoppage time to secure a dramatic point against Sheffield Wednesday.

Attention now turns to the Carabao Cup and next weekend as both of London’s Championship clubs look to add to their win columns with only one able to do so due tot he fact they play each other. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Championship.

Cifuentes warning

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes has warned of Sheffield Wednesday’s danger ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup clash. “This will be a difficult game,” he said. “We know from the way Sheffield Wednesday play already last season and how they started this season, they are about pressing and counter-pressing, to try to be very aggressive all around the pitch, make quick attacks and quick transitions. That will be a challenge for us.

“The fact they had bad results after a brilliant start against Plymouth just makes them more dangerous. We need to make sure we know what type of game we are going to face, and from there play our style according to our identity.”

Harris fumes

Neil Harris seemingly lost his temper with the Millwall players after their narrow defeat to Luton Town, with a goal in the 10th minute ultimately deciding the game.

Harris said after the game: “Do we defend our goal well enough? I’m really questioning the mentality we have to defend our goal. It’s a disappointment.”

Stoke injury blow

Former Sunderland man and current Stoke City star Lynden Gooch has suffered a pretty seious-looking knee injury. Gooch is said to have suffered a suspected medial ligament injury that could see him sidelined for a significant chunk of time.

"It doesn't look good," said Potters head coach Steven Schumacher after the game. "He's in a brace at the moment. It was a block tackle and it opened up. Sometimes that can look like a medial ligament and that's what it feels like it was. It's unfortunate."
