Flemming on Burnley

Departing Millwall star Zian Flemming, who left for Burnley on deadline day in a £7million deal, has issued his reasons for making the switch to Turf Moor.

He told Burnley’s official website: “In the Championship they (Burnley) are one of the biggest clubs and one of the favourites to go up again. They have just come down from the Premier League and there is big ambition to play in the top half of the Championship.”

Eze interest claim

Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish has admitted he was surprised by the lack of interest in Eberechi Eze during the summer window. QPR hold a 20% sell-on clause in Eze’s deal.

Parish told Sky Sports: “I was really worried from a club point of view of losing Michael and Ebbs in the same window and we didn't have in Ebbs the interest that I thought we would have. I was astounded. Genuinely astounded. I mean, the guy's just an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person.”

Gelhardt tipped for exit

Leeds United man Joe Gelhardt could be on his way out of the club, with Carlton Palmer tipping the forward to move on in a bid to land more regular game time. “Joe Geldhart finds himself in an unenviable position at the moment. He’s 22, and he’s getting very little game time at Leeds United. I’m surprised he didn’t leave Leeds this summer,” Palmer told Football League World.

“There were previously last season, the likes of Ipswich Town, who were interested in him. The season before, he went on loan to Championship Sunderland, where he played 18 games and only scored three goals. I am surprised that him and his advisors haven’t sorted a move. He needs to play football, and he’s just not getting any game time and the years are ticking on.

“I’m sure his advisors now will be looking at it saying, listen, right, if he’s not getting game time, I think by the time we get to the Championship transfer window, they’ll look to get him out, whether it’s on loan or on a permanent deal.”
