Mikel Arteta names Arsenal team against Manchester City as Jorginho and Tomiyiasu start

Arsenal have made two changes from their 1-1 draw with Brentford as they come up against Manchester City at Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be without midfielder Thomas Partey who has been sidelined with a muscle injury.

The 29-year-old sustained the injury in a training session on Tuesday and has been replaced by Jorginho in the starting XI.

Takehiro Tomiyasu starts at right back ahead of Ben White while Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah are part of the attacking triumvirate.

“It’s what happens in football,” said Arteta ahead of the game

“Unfortunately Thomas felt something in his back muscle and he wasn’t available to play today.”

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 13 home league games (W11 D2) but haven’t won in 10 league games against City.
