Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has five goals in his last five Premier League appearances as he begins to find form at Old Trafford following a tough start to life in the UK.

That form appears not to have gone unnoticed by some of Europe's biggest clubs, despite the player only joining the Red Devils last summer.

Manchester United and Hojlund feature in our Wednesday evening transfer round-up along with the latest from Liverpool.

Real Madrid linked with sensational Man Utd summer move

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has already made his love for the club clear amid reports of interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Red Devils forked out £72 million to sign the talisman from Atalanta last summer but Madrid had nonetheless been linked with a sensational summer move for the star earlier this week, according to reports in Spain, as they seek a long-term Karim Benzema replacement.

Hojlund only arrived at Old Trafford in the summer, as he penned a deal at the club running until the summer of 2028. He scored five goals in six Champions League appearances for the Red Devils but was unable to translate that goal-scoring form into the Premier League.

He also has two assists in his last five appearances and his form has reportedly perked the interest of Madrid. However, it would likely take a huge fee from the Spanish club to pry Hojlund from United, and it is unlikely to be a move the player himself would want. That is because when he signed for United in the summer, he revealed to TV2 Sport in Denmark that he wrote a note for a school project at the age of 10 which said his dream was to represent his country and play for Manchester United.

Speaking about the note, he said in August: "It's about dreaming big and daring to dream big. Otherwise, you will not reach your goals. It is rare that you get everything in one package, but I would actually say that everything has just come together with me and Manchester United. It's a perfect match. I think that Rasmus at 10 would probably be "buzzing", as they say over here in England. He set himself a goal, so that's what I've gone after."

Liverpool latest on Trent Alexander-Arnold future

Liverpool are bracing themselves for a transitory summer as Jurgen Klopp ends his nine-year stay at Anfield with changes in personnel on the pitch also to be expected.

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been key men during the German's reign but all have contracts set to expire in the summer of 2025. The Reds are now entering a difficult territory where they must get new terms agreed or start to consider selling these key players before they risk losing them for free next year.

LiverpoolWorld claims that Alexander-Arnold, who has a reported market value of £60m, is keen to stay at his boyhood club but is stalling on putting pen to paper as he wants his importance to the side reflected in the new agreement. The parties involved remain 'confident' that a deal will be done but the versatile star's stay won't come cheap for Liverpool.
