What happens next for defender Kevin Mbabu at Fulham?

Kevin Mbabu is facing an uncertain future at Fulham after failing to secure a move away before the deadline of the January transfer window. He remains at Craven Cottage but has slipped further down the pecking order following Cedric Soares’ arrival from Arsenal.
The Switzerland international was expected to head out the exit door last month but is now in limbo. He only made the move to Craven Cottage last summer from Wolfsburg but has made just seven appearances in all competitions.

Hide AdMbabu, 27, was linked with a few clubs. TuttoMercatoWeb reported Manchester United and Monza wanted him this winter, whilst Sky Sports claimed teams in France, Germany and from the Championship were monitoring his situation.
He now faces the prospect of five months without game time until the summer unless he takes the chance to leave Fulham as soon as he can. Below is a list of countries where teams can still bring in players...
Australia - A-League - shuts in one day
Turkey - Super Lig - shuts in two days
Croatia - Prva NL - shuts in nine days
Switzerland - Super League - shuts in nine days
China - Super League - shuts in 16 days
There are still options out there for Mbabu if he is still keen to get opportunities elsewhere. A return to Swizterland seems the most likely scenario at this stage out of the above list. He started out at Servette as a youngster and impressed at Young Boys from 2017 to 2019.
The former Newcastle United defender is on Fulham’s updated 25-man squad ahead of the second-half of the campaign so can still force his way back into Marco Silva’s side. However, that seems unlikely, especially with Kenny Tete is fine form as well.
