Fulham’s pursuits of Arsenal’s Cedric Soares and Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure are reportedly being affected by their respective wage demands. The Cottagers can bolster their ranks again now with the January transfer window open.

According to a report by the Evening Standard, their move for Cedric is being ‘held up’ with London club said to be reluctant to pay the big wage he is currently on at the Emirates Stadium, with the same situation applying to Doucoure. The latter played under Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

Fulham have had a brilliant season so far and have their fans dreaming of Europe as they sit in 8th place. They picked up another win last time out against Southampton at home.

Cedric, 31, has been linked with a switch to Craven Cottage for a while now and has fallen way down the pecking order with the table topping Gunners. He has played just twice so far this term so a departure to the Whites would make sense. However, there needs to be some compromise from the parties involved if he is to make the transfer this month.

Doucoure has played nine games in this campaign for Frank Lampard’s Everton and is no longer a regular starter with the Toffees. He signed for them back in 2020 after an impressive four years at Watford but is facing an uncertain future at this moment in time.
