Fulham boss Marco Silva is under no illusion how tough their clash against Manchester United will be. The Cottagers welcome the Red Devils to Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are only four points behind Erik ten Hag’s side in the Premier League table and have adapted well to life back in the top flight after their promotion from the Championship. United have been beaten four times in the league so far this term and three points off the top four.

Silva has delivered his verdict on them to his club’s official website:

“They haven’t been so consistent, like they would like to be, of course. In some moments when they are in their best level, they are a really, really, really good team with a lot of quality all over the pitch, on the bench as well.

“They had some setbacks during the season so far, but we analysed them and we know what they are capable of and the quality they have.”

Regarding Ten Hag, he said:

“He is trying to create his own philosophy inside that big club. They moved in the market, they signed good players, they spent a good amount, which is normal in that football club to try to be stronger.

“They had a very good pre-season and, as I said before, some ups and downs during the season, but what I can tell you is that when they are at their best level they are a really good team.”

Fulham took Manchester City to the wire last weekend at the Etihad Stadium which shows that they can compete with the big boys. They will be without striker Aleksandar Mitrovic through injury though which is a blow.

United gave attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira the green light to head out the exit door in the last summer transfer window and he has since become a hit with Silva’s side. The Brazilian, who scored from the penalty spot last time out, will be eager to show his former employers what they are missing.
