Preston North End vs Fulham early injury news as 1 ruled out and 3 doubts

All the latest injury news surrounding Fulham and Preston North End ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup clash.

Fulham were left frustrated over the weekend when they conceded a late stoppage time equaliser against West Ham to draw 1-1 after Raul Jimenez put the Cottagers ahead. Marco Silva’s men have just one win from their first four games, but they have only lost once.

The Cottagers now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup, facing Championship outfit Preston North End away from home on Tuesday night. Here we round up the early injury news surrounding both teams.

Will Keane - Doubt

Will Keane pulled out of Preston’s clash with Middlesbrough over the weekend, a game they drew, with a hamstring injury. North End boss Heckingbottom explained: “Will felt his hamstring and we were not going to risk him.”

Stefan Thordarson - Doubt

Thordarson missed the weekend’s outing through illness, with Heckingbottom saying: “Stefan was ill. A few of the Icelandic boys got ill when they went away - it looks like there was a virus going around. We thought he would be fit, but he wasn’t and it’s not worth risking him.”

Layton Stewart - Doubt

Stewart was set to feature for the under-21s last week but missed out due to an issue. Heckingbottom has said of the 22-year-old former Liverpool man: “Yeah, he’d just come back. He had a couple of days out, so we didn’t use him - which is a shame, because I would’ve loved to. Certainly, the players who are not featuring and getting regular minutes, we will use games like that as part of their week.

“One thing is for sure - we want to make sure they are all getting the same sort of programme and physically, they are in a good place. Then, when the opportunity comes to play, they need to be able to contribute and stay in the team.”

Carlos Vinicius - Out

Vinicius remains out with a lower leg injury and he will not return until October. Silva has said: “He has a small injury, a problem in his calf. It's going to be soon probably, more eight days, ten days, he's going to be ready to train with the team.”
