Man City v Fulham: Why is Premier League clash not on TV, kick off time and how to watch highlights
Marco Silva’s side come into this game in great form, and haven’t lost since October 9
and live on Freeview channel 276
The sides last met in the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier in 2022, with Man City sweeping Fulham away 4-1. Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones and a brace from Riyad Mahrez cancelled out an early Fabio Carvalho goal.
Fulham have had a great return to life back in the Premier League. They sit in seventh place and are well clear of the drop zone.
City will also be buoyed as they won their Champions League group. They survived an early scare against Sevilla but scored three second half goals to end their UCL group stage campaign on a win.
When does Manchester City v Fulham kick off?
Kick off between Manchester City and Fulham is at 3pm on Saturday, November 5 at the Etihad Stadium.
Why is the game not on TV?
Manchester City v Fulham has been selected for a 3pm kick-off time on Saturday November 5 and so it won’t be shown live on UK television. This is to comply with the ‘blackout’ regulation on televised coverage between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on a Saturday.
Under the rules, broadcasting rights are restricted for clubs in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. Not all is lost, though, as highlights will be available for Sky Sports subscribers on the Sky Sports app around 15-30 minutes after the final whistle.
The blackout rule was introduced way back in the 1960s, and was brought in to boost crowd attendances around the country. There are currently no plans to get rid of the rule anytime soon.
How to keep up with Manchester City vs Fulham
Despite the game not being on TV, you can still keep up with it. You can tune in to Gillette Soccer Saturday as Jeff Stelling and his team of in-studio pundits, and some journalists at selected grounds around the country keep you up to date with all of the latest scores.
