Fulham are reportedly making a move for Dundee United winger Rory MacLeod. The Cottagers have become the latest club to be linked with the promising youngster.

According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Marco Silva’s ‘want’ to beat competition from some fellow Premier League sides to lure the prospect down to London. The January transfer window shuts on Tuesday evening.

Fulham have been patient with their recruitment so far this winter as they look to bring in the right type of player. They are expected to be busy over the next couple of days and could see MacLeod as a useful long-term option.

The 16-year-old is being tipped for a bright future in the game and appears to be a man in-demand below the border. The Sun claim West Ham have been scouting him. The same source has also suggested Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion like him, whilst Football Scotland have reported that Southampton are keen too.

MacLeod penned his first professional deal back in 2021 and has made seven first-team appearances so far in his career. He is under contract until 2024 but his side are facing a battle to keep hold of him.

In other news, Fulham boss Silva has admitted he didn’t enjoy the FA Cup clash against Sunderland this weekend. He told the club website: “It was an intense game, a typical FA Cup match. We were more dominant, to be honest that was our obligation, but I believe the game was too broken, for me as a manager, to enjoy.”
