Fulham star Alesandar Mitrovic could become teammates with superstar Neymar Jr this summer.

Mitrovic has been at the centre of a transfer storm this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia. The striker has soured his relationship with Fulham fans after years of success at the club, attempting to force through a deal by threatening to never play for the club again, even if he is forced to stay. Though, he has since returned to the fold, coming off the bench against Everton over the weekend.

The situation has arisen following interest from Al Hilal and a reported contract offer worth around £400,000 per week.

Fulham cannot afford to compete with that sort of money, but they are not going miss out on money just so they can allow one of their best players to get his pay day in the Middle East. The Cottagers are said to be demanding as much as £52million for Mitrovic, who is under contract at Craven Cottage until 2026.

In the meantime, Al-Hilal have made headlines with the signing of PSG superstar Neymar Jr, adding to the captures of Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Malcom and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Mitrovic could now form part of a dangerous attacking line alongside Neymar should he eventually get his wish.

According to TalkSPORT, Al Hilal now have an offer worth almost £47million on the table for Mitrovic, falling just £5million short of Fulham’s price tag despite bidding starting as low as £25million. Fulham have work to do as they look to correct the situation, but at this point, most Cottagers fans would surely prefer their club to take £47million - which is likely more than Mitrovic is worth - rather than keeping an unhappy player.

The concern on the club’s part will be that there is limited time to replace Mitrovic, while clubs will also demand a higher fee from Fulham for players with the knowledge of the money they will have received.
