Fulham showing ‘interest’ in former Tottenham Hotspur man

The latest Fulham transfer news emerges.

Fulham have been credited with an interest in Villarreal right-back Serge Aurier.

The Ivory Coast international played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2017 to 2021 and is now being linked with a return to England.

RMC Sport reporter Loic Tanzi says the Cottagers are keen (see tweet below):

Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray are also reportedly in the frame.

Fulham planning ahead

Fulham are gearing up for their return to the Premier League after storming to the Championship title last term.

Marco Silva’s side have so far signed Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon and Andreas Pereira from Manchester United as they prepare for life back in the top flight.

Aurier is someone who knows the league well from his time at Spurs and would give the London club more competition and depth in their squad.

He left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in October last year and made 19 appearances for Villarreal in all competitions.

Spurs spell

The wing-back had spells in France at Lens, Toulouse and PSG before Spurs swooped to sign him.

He then went on to play 110 games in all competitions and chipped in with eight goals.

Other news

Fulham are mulling over to make another bid for West Ham United defender Issa Diop, who played with Aurier at Toulouse.

That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim Silva’s side are weighing up another swoop after already having an offer rejected.

Diop has been with the Hammers since 2019 and has played 121 times for David Moyes’ side.
