Fulham are reportedly interested in FC Nordsjælland midfielder Jacob Steen Christensen. The Cottagers are being linked with a new name ahead of deadline day on Tuesday.

According to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Marco Silva’s side are in the frame to land his signature. However, there is also believed to be clubs in Italy after him as well so there is competition.

Fulham could see the Denmark youth international as a long-term option in the heart of midfield. It has been no secret that the London club are in the hunt for reinforcements in that department before the end of the transfer window.

At the age of 21, Christensen has the potential to grow and develop in the future. He has been on the books at Nordsjælland for his whole career to date and has made 140 first-team appearances to date, chipping in with a single goal and nine assists.

His contract expires at the end of this season meaning his current club risk losing him for free this summer. They either need to sell him before tomorrow or try and agree terms on a new deal unless they could lose him for nothing.

In other news, the Daily Mail report that Newcastle United are keen on Fulham target Sander Berge at Sheffield United. However, Eddie Howe’s side would prefer a loan deal.
