Fulham are reportedly monitoring the current top goalscorer in the Bundesliga and could put forth a transfer offer for him in the January window.

Fulham are thought to be exploring the possibility of making a transfer move for VfB Stuttgart centre-forward Serhou Guirassy in the January transfer window, according to a report from Football Fancast.

Guirassy has been on fire in Germany’s top division so far this season. He is the leading goalscorer in the division, having scored an eye-watering 13 goals in seven games - putting him above the likes of Harry Kane, Leroy Sane and Marco Reus.

Who else, besides Fulham, are interested in a move for Serhou Guirassy?

Given his status as the leading goalscorer in the Bundesliga, one of Europe’s top divisions, it should come as no surprise that Fulham are just one of many clubs who have been linked with a move for Guirassy.

West Ham United and Brentford are believed to be scouting the player - meanwhile, he is also reportedly on the radar of both Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth [via 90min]. Chelsea and Arsenal had also been linked with the player, but Fabrizio Romano put these rumours to the sword [via CaughtOffside].

What would Serhou Guirassy bring to the squad?

Ever since the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic in the summer, when he left Craven Cottage to join Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, Fulham have lacked a natural goalscorer. Carlos Vinicius has scored just two goals in all competitions thus far, while Raul Jiminez has failed to find the back of the net up to this point [via BBC Sport].

As such, bringing a player with a vast goalscoring pedigree to the club makes a lot of sense. In many ways, Guirassy is a similar player to Mitrovic - he possesses excellent movement off the ball, has brilliant physical attributes and is an imposing figure at 6ft 2.

Winning the race to secure Guirassy’s signature will be no easy feat, given the number of interested parties. However, Fulham are a club with considerable financial resources - even if they cannot beat out the competition, they should be able to put forth an admirable effort.
