'That's why' - Fulham star explains celebration decision after goal against Tottenham

Ryan Sessegnon has been speaking after putting former club Tottenham to the sword on Sunday. Fulham boosted their chances of qualifying for Europe with a superb second half performance that saw them score twice, responding from a scrappy first 45 minutes.
Rodrigo Muniz scored in the 78th minute to open the scoring, and substitute Sessegnon came off the bench to put them to put the final nail in the Tottenham coffin in the 88th minute.

Hide AdSessegnon didn’t have an easy time with Spurs, struggling with injury during his five years with the club, making only 38 league appearances. He has put that behind him after returning to Fulham, but he has not forgotten his valuable time in North London, and he chose to mute his celebration.
Asked about the decision not to celebrate after the game, Sessegnon explained: “It's amazing, especially the way we won it. I'm happy to come on and contribute. It was a tough game and we took our moments when we needed to. Massive credit to the manager and as subs we want to come on and affect the game. Rodrigo is one of the best at it.
"I knew I could use my strength and speed to get ahead. I shrugged off Ben Davies a bit and I managed to get it in with my right. I spent five years at Spurs and I'm grateful for my time there. So that's why I didn't celebrate. I'm feeling good, sharp and strong. I just want to play a little bit more. When I get the chances I want to prove I can play at this level. We're taking it one game at a time but we've also got one eye on the European spots."
Fulham are now in eighth spot, and that could be a European position should England get an extra spot this term. But seventh spot is only two points ahead of them after the win over Spurs, and that will be enough for the Cottagers to dust off their passports.

"As a team we have one eye [on the European places] and we're taking it game by game, we just need to keep going. I enjoyed my time [at Tottenham], five years at the club. Playing-wise I didn't play as often as I'd have liked, mainly because of injuries, but I still respect the club."
