According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, the Cottagers and the Hammers have been ‘alerted’ by his apparent availability.

Leicester City have also been mentioned as a potential suitor, whilst Crystal Palace are said to be admirers but don’t need him anymore.

Who is Kossounou?

Kossounou is an Ivory Coast international who has 15 caps under his belt so far.

The 21-year-old, who stands at 6ft 3inc, only signed for Leverkusen last year and penned a five-year deal with the German side.

He played 33 games in all competitions for them last term and has also played in this campaign.

The youngster started his career at Hammarby IF in Sweden before moving over to Belgium for a two year spell at Club Brugge.

Kossounou was a hit during his time in Brugge and played 55 times to earn a move to the BayArena.

A switch to the Premier League is being talked about now and Fulham and West Ham are two possible destinations.

The Cottagers have two points from their opening two games, whilst the Hammers have lost both.

Other news

In other news, Silva was satisfied with Fulham’s result against Wolves this weekend.

He said, as per the Hammy End:

“It was a tough game for us, like we expected against a good side. A team that we knew were playing their first Premier League match at home, we knew what type of atmosphere we would play against here, one that would push them further for sure.

“They wanted to win the game as it was their first game, playing against a team that was promoted as well, that was always their obligation.”
