Fulham and Brentford are both being linked with a move for Chicago Fire striker Jhon Duran. The prospect has emerged on the radar of the London pair ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

According to a report by CalcioMercatoWeb, the Premier League duo have both made ‘offers’ for the 19-year-old. However, they aren’t the only two teams in the frame for his signature though with fellow top flight outfit Aston Villa and Portuguese giants Benfica also credited with an interest.

Fulham could see Duran as someone to compete with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Carlos Vinicius up top, whereas Brentford will need to start thinking about potential long-term replacements for Ivan Toney with interest inevitable in their main man down the line.

The Colombia international started his career at Envigado and broke into their first-team before moving to America in 2021. He has since become a key player for Chicago Fire in MLS and found the net eight times for them this year.

They will be desperate to keep hold of him ahead of their 2023 campaign but will face a battle amid reported interest from Europe. His contract at Soldier Field expires in the winter of 2024 so they are not under any financial pressure to cash in on him just yet.

Duran is currently teammates with former Premier League winger Xherdan Shaqiri at Chicago. The Illinois-based outfit also have promising goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina on loan from Chelsea.
