Brentford and Fulham's 3 remaining fixtures compared to Brighton and others amid twists in Conference League race
A look at the final run-in as Brentford, Fulham and others battle for a Conference League spot.
Brentford and Fulham continue their respective battles for European football over the weekend, and with mixed fortunes. Fulham came up short to Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa on Saturday, but the Bees managed to pull off a big win over Manchester United, winning 4-3 after a hugely entertaining encounter that almost saw the Red Devils complete a comeback.

Fulham, meanwhile, are expected to finish as low as 11th place, tipped to end up on 54 points, which is just three more than their current total. Brighton are expected to finish 10th with 55 points.
In the current live table, Bournemouth are eighth with 53 points, Brentford are ninth with 52 points, ahead of Brighton who have the same total but a worse goal difference by eight. Fulham are in 11th with 51 points.

What Thomas Frank has said
Frank said after Brentford’s statement win over Man Utd: "Basically, from the first year in the division, we respect everyone but fear no one. We believe that we can win every game. We try to go for that win. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but we really, really, really believe it every single time. The players are fantastic. It is a fantastic group to work with.
"We spoke about it [Europe] before the Brighton game. I rarely say that to the players as it's more about performance, but [I said] this game, we need to win. We have to win this if we want to be in with any chance of maybe having a dream about Europe. And the players did that, big credit to them. Then we played a difficult away game to Nottingham Forest, beat them, home to Man Utd, beat them. And all three wins, well deserved. We've got this momentum, hopefully we can keep it up. It's all about getting the job done and it's one at a time. We had a laser, laser, laser focus throughout four seasons on the next game. It's all about the next game."
What Marco Silva has said
Silva said after Fulham’s defeat to Villa: "This was a game both teams wanted to win, it is always difficult in a game like this, that is like a final. At 1-0 at half time we had two great chances to equalise the game. Even with 10 men, very unlucky ourselves pushing them back. They were wasting time every single time and that showed how difficult it was for them. We have to keep looking to the next one. Today was a final and our next final is against Everton. We have to keep fighting."
